Faculty Overview

As an integral part of the Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII), the Faculty of Social Sciences (FIS) is committed to upholding and advancing the university’s mission. The Faculty embodies this mission through a diverse range of educational activities, teaching methodologies, research endeavors, and various non-academic events.

Aligned with the disciplines encompassed within the social sciences, the Faculty of Social Sciences dedicates itself to studying, discussing, and elucidating the evolving social and political dynamics of Indonesian Islam. This focus aims to enhance understanding not just among the Indonesian community but also at an international level. For Muslim communities in other countries, Indonesian Islam serves as a valuable case study in understanding how Islam is interpreted and integrated into the social and political fabric of a nation.

Mission

  1. To provide world-class education and teaching in social sciences.
  2. To conduct exemplary research on social, political, and strategic issues faced by the global community, particularly Muslim societies and countries with majority Muslim populations.
  3. To contribute innovative thought in policy-making concerning strategic social-political issues faced by the world, Muslim communities, and predominantly Muslim countries.

Objectives

  1. To offer rigorous education and teaching in social sciences and research methodologies;
  2. To undertake innovative research that combines theoretical mastery with a deep understanding of the social and political transformations affecting the global community, Muslim societies, and countries with majority Muslim populations;
  3. To produce and disseminate exceptional research findings that serve as references for the academic community and national and international policymakers;
  4. To develop an academic community committed to addressing the increasingly complex social-political issues and governance challenges of the global world.
