On Monday, July 15, 2024, from 13:30 to 15:00 (GMT +7), the Faculty of Social Sciences (FOSS) at UIII will host a lecture by Professor William Hurst, the Chong Hua Professor of Chinese Development at the University of Cambridge. Professor Hurst, a leading expert in labor and contentious politics, political economy, and legal institutions in China and Indonesia, will discuss his research on legal regimes in these two countries. His talk, titled “Ruling Before the Law: The Politics of Legal Regimes in China and Indonesia,” will draw from his extensive work, including “The Chinese Worker After Socialism” and “Ruling Before the Law.” The event will be held in the Teleconference Room, Faculty B Building, UIII.
