About
This course will help participants to develop research skills in the analysis of panel data, with a focus on applied social science or economics. Topics cover specification, estimation, and inference in the context of models that include individual (firm, person, etc.) and/or time effects. The course will begin with a short review of the standard linear regression model. It will be extended to panel data settings involving ‘fixed’, ‘random’, and ‘mixed’ effects. We will consider numerous applications from the literature.
Software Requrement
STATA
The module will use STATA and the training will be conducted in the UIII Statistics Lab.
Instructors
Teguh Yudo Wicaksono
Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia
Teguh Yudo Wicaksono, Ph.D. currently serves as the Head of Mandiri Institute. Previously, he worked as a revenue policy advisor at Australia Indonesia Partnership for Economic Development (Prospera). In the role, he provided advice on revenue-related and fiscal policies to the Ministry of Finance. Formerly, he worked as a research fellow at Survey METER (2015-2017) and had been an economist at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS; 2003-2010). For years, he was also a consultant to international organizations, including the World Bank, ADB, ILO, UNICEF, Palladium, and others. His research and publications include industrial policy, tax policy, international trade, labor market, and technology. He earned a Ph.D. degree in Economics from the University of Kentucky USA as a Fulbright Presidential Scholar, and a Master of Economics from the University of Sydney, Australia.
