About

This course is designed to provide researchers/academicians with understanding of qualitative data analysis using software. Participants will learn how to effectively manage, analyze, and visualize qualitative data using Quirkos software (freeware for 14 days). The course will cover various techniques of data coding, categorization, and theme development, and participants will gain hands-on experience with the software through practical exercises and sample of data. By the end of the course, participants will be able to confidently utilize Quirkos software to analyze qualitative data and derive meaningful insights. By the end of this course, the participants will:

  1. Understand the principles and fundamentals of qualitative data analysis.
  2. Learn to navigate and utilize the features of Quirkos software effectively.
  3. Develop proficiency in data coding, categorizing, and analyzing qualitative data using Quirkos software.
  4. Able to apply thematic analysis techniques and derive meaningful insights from qualitative data

Gain practical skills in visualizing and reporting qualitative data using Quirkos.

Instructors

Bambang Sumintono

Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia

Dr. Bambang Sumintono is a lecturer at the Faculty of Education, Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia. He graduated from the Master of Educational Administration program, Flinders University, Australia; and obtained a Ph.D. in Educational Policy from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. Previously he worked as a lecturer at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and Universiti Malaya, both in Malaysia. He wrote two textbooks about the application of Rasch modeling for social sciences research in the Indonesian language. Dr. Sumintono is also an editorial board member of the Educational Assessment, Evaluation, and Accountability journal; and Pacific Rims Objective Measurement Society (PROMS) board member.
