About
The training material on “Sampling” in general covers the theory and application of sampling methods and estimation in surveys. It includes the motivation for sampling in surveys, basic concepts, discussions on various sampling designs, and design-based statistical estimation. Data processing and statistical estimation using software will also be part of the training. The training aims to enhance participants’ understanding of sampling methods, enabling them to produce high-quality survey research. The topics to be covered in this training include:
- Survey Plan & Survey Estimation
- Sampling Design & Design-Based Estimation
- Probability Sampling Concept
- Practice: Randomization & Estimation
- Data Processing & Statistical Estimation using Software
This training will be conducted in Indonesian.
Software Requirement

Instructors
Deni Irvani
Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting
Deni Irvani, M.Si., is the Director of Research at Saifulmujani Research & Consulting and has previously worked as a researcher at the Indonesian Survey Institute. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Statistics from Bogor Agricultural University and is currently completing his Ph.D. in the same field at the same institution. His expertise in survey methodology, sampling, and estimation has provided him with extensive opportunities to be involved in various national and regional quantitative research projects. He is also actively involved as a board member of Perhimpunan Survei Opini Publik Indonesia (Persepi).
Rizka Halida
Universitas Indonesia and Indikator Politik Indonesia
Dr. Rizka Halida is a faculty member of the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Indonesia. Her interests primarily lie in Social Psychology and Political Psychology. She obtained her Ph.D. from the Faculty of Psychology, University of Indonesia in 2017. Her dissertation focused on vote-buying, specifically examining the factors that influence voters when faced with money politics during elections. Currently, Rizka serves as the Chair of the Master’s Program in Psychology. Additionally, she is a researcher at the Indonesian Survey Institute and the Indonesian Political Indicator. She is involved in research on democracy, voting behavior, interreligious relations, and corruption in Indonesia (https://labcaw.ui.ac.id/people-lab/dr-rizka-halida/).
