Module

Rasch Model

Schedule:

  • 15 Aug. (09:30 – 15:30)

About

The module will teach students how to develop non-cognitive test measurements using the Rasch Model. The importance of an instrument in terms of measuring latent traits of human measurement before any data collection hence a valid research data analysis is a very important factor that needs to be given very serious consideration. A faulty instrument will render the data useless and the data analysis is therefore null and void. A measurement model that can provide accurate and precise results is essential in any field in terms of cognitive or non-cognitive ability measurement. This course provides an introduction to human measurement, how the Rasch model creates linear and interval measures, practice using Ministep software for polytomy rating scale (such as Likert rating), multiple rating (partial credit model or PCM), reliability and validity test for instrument and person analysis.
